The Bancroft Autumn Tasting 2011

This week we hosted our Autumn Portfolio Tasting at the Bancroft office on Bermondsey Street. The theme of this tasting was new arrivals since we have added over 40 new wines to our portfolio this year. Alongside these were brand new vintages from some of our favourite growers from around the globe.

We were thrilled to host a number of our favourite winemakers and representatives all of whom flew in especially to join us for the day, including our old friend Michael Kerrigan, ex-winemaker at Howard Park/Madfish and now the proud, yet genuinely modest, owner and winemaker at the increasingly highly revered Margaret River and 5 star Halliday Estate; Hayshed Hill.
We were also delighted to be joined by Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy, winemaker and owner of Champagne René Geoffroy; Casey Mohr from leading Barossa Valley Winery Schild Estate; Francesco Vitulli who represents our new Italian agencies Marchesi (Tuscany) and Torrevento (Puglia); Gabrielle Fittler from the highly acclaimed Ten Minutes by Tractor, Mornington Peninsula; Derain Thibault from Domaine Michel Juillot, the finest grower in Mercurey; Raphael De Haan, owner of Export Iberia, a dynamic, Barcelona based company which specialises in spotting and working with up and coming estates and new talented young winemakers across both established and lesser know regions of Spain.

The tasting was a huge success and we are already looking forward to our next portfolio tasting on 7th February 2012 at The Westbury Hotel!
