Ten Minutes by Tractor given 5 stars again by Halliday in his 2014 Wine Companion

We are pleased to hear that cult Mornington Peninsula producer Ten Minutes by Tractor has been rated as a five star winery yet again by James Halliday in his 2014 edition of the Wine Companion.

“The energy, drive and vision of Martin Spedding  have transformed Ten Minutes by Tractor since he acquired the business in early 2004. In mid 2006 Ten Minutes by Tractor purchased the McCutcheon Vineyard; it also has long-term leases on the other two original home vineyards (Judd and Wallis), thus having complete control over grape production. Three new vineyards have been added in recent years; the one at the cellar door and restaurant site is organically certified and is used to trial organic viticultural practices that are progressively being employed across all the vineyards; the others are in the north of the Peninsula. There are now three labels: the first is Single Vineyard, from the home Judd, McCutcheon and Wallace Vineyards; next is Estate, the best blend of Pinot and Chardonnay from the home vineyards; and, finally, 10X from the other estate-owned Mornington Peninsula vineyards. The winemaking partnership between Rick McIntyre and Martin continues to evolve, with a focus on traditional Burgundian and natural winemaking techniques. The restaurant has one of the best wine lists to be found at any winery.” James Halliday, 2014 Wine Companion
