Top 100 Blue Gold Medal for Schild Estate

The string of awards just keeps on growing for Schild Estate’s 2012 Grenache Mourvèdre Shiraz. On the back of winning multiple medals since its release, this fantastic wine has just been awarded a Top 100 Blue Gold medal at the Sydney International Wine Competition, 2014 and is in the running for the Best Value Trophy Award next March.

2012 was a wonderful vintage in the Barossa delivering beautifully balanced and expressive fruit. These qualities are immediately evident in this vibrant and seductive wine made without the use of oak to ensure the pure, bright fruit shines through.

Medium bodied with a mineral core underlying the crisp red fruits and spice, this wine is fresh, complex and beguiling.

The 2012 GMS is becoming increasingly important to Schild Estate’s stable of wines and is now one of the top selling reds in the Family Estate Range. The striking new label features three generations of hands holding a pitch fork, Ed, his son Mick and grandson Angus’ hands. Generations of family connected by the vineyards where they all live and work together.

“Recognition at this top level is very important” says Casey Mohr, General Manager. We have pitched ourselves against the best wines in the world and come out on top. That is something we are enormously proud of.

With this new award and the eye catching new labels, Schild Estate is shouting loud and clear that they the are ones to watch.
