Gaucho International Polo with Luigi Bosca wines, by Claire Scott-Gall

The Gaucho International Polo  event at the O2 last night was extremely successful and we would like to thank Gaucho for a really entertaining evening.

We were representing Luigi Bosca in the Argentine Wine Tasting Village and showing four wines from the range: Finca la Linda Torrontés 2011, Luigi Bosca Malbec 2009, DOC Malbec 2008 and Gala 4 2008. The room was buzzing with excitement as glamorous ladies and white-jeaned gentlemen slurped their way through the best wines of Argentina.

With the wine tasting over, many well-oiled spectators in their seats (there were hardly any spittoons!), and the horses at their marks, the polo was to begin. First up was Scotland versus Ireland, with Scotland beating Ireland in an exhilarating match between these much-rivalled teams.

After all the ponies had left the stage, on came the steamrollers to prepare the sand for the next match between Argentina and England. Indoor Polo requires only three, not four, horses and yet there was an incredible rotation of horses with at least 3 changes per rider per match.

After a nail biter of a match, unbelievably England came out on top and the celebrations in the after party were to begin….
