Slovenia and Croatia Trip in pictures - Part 1 Marjan Simcic, Slovenia

Neb Gusic shares his photos from his memorable trip to Slovenia and Croatia visiting Marjan Simcic and Vina Matosevic with a group of clients.

We arrive at Goriska Brda, Slovenia

Here, we are next to Marjan’s Sauvignon Blanc vineyard. White stone marks the border. Left part of our team is in Italy: David, Marjan and Igor while Isa, Joao, Neil and Colin are in Slovenia!

After tour of Marjan’s vineyards we are served light refreshments in Hotel Gredic.  Nice view!

We visit Hotel Cellars filled with Marjan’s wines.

Heston boys enjoy the selection.

Team indulges in a lunch with wines from Marjan’s Classic range. Then we were off to local tower to view the region.

Some were brave enough to climb the tower and enjoy the view.

And some opted for lower grounds!

Team gathers at Marjan’s home soon after. Time for drinks and more food? I think so!

Amazing dinner and then we are off to tour the Simcic Cellars

We pose for a photo where the famous sweet wine Leonardo is made.

And we take another one where the Opoka range is aged. Here we are joined by Marjan’s son Leonardo.

We surface one hour later to find out that the food we had previously eaten was just a warm up and the “proper” dinner is waiting....“Marjan, but  it is past midnight” we shout. “Oh then we have time for an aperitif” he replies

What a dinner!

And even better wines

Marjan claims that “7 minutes is an eternity in the life of wine in the glass” but obviously he can’t wait.

5:30 in the morning and dinner finally is finished but some stay for a few more drinks....

Onto Croatia....
