Luigi Bosca launches its own olive oil

Luigi Bosca has just launched its own range of extra virgin olive oil, Essencia Luigi Bosca, named after the terroir on which the olive trees are grown.

The range is made up of three blends: Fruttato Suave (Soft), Fruttato Medio (Medium) and Fruttato Intenso (Intense). The name Fruttato represents the fruit intensity that each blend possesses.

Fruttato Suave is a delicate blend of 95% Arbequina and 5% Arauco. It displays a greenish yellow colour and displays intense fruity and vegetal aromas that are reminiscent of green apples, grass and white fruits. It has a lovely sweet finish.

Fruttato Medio, a blend of 85% Frantoio, 10% Manzanilla and 5% Arauco, is yellow-green in colour with aromas of white peach and pumpkin, fresh tomatoes, olives and green leaves with a pleasant bitter taste on the finish.

Lastly, the Fruttato Intenso is a medium-intense blend of 85% Frantoio, 10% Empeltre and 5% Arauco. It has a deep yellow-green colour with aromas of fresh walnuts, almonds, olives, tomato leaves, figs and pumpkin seeds. In the mouth it displays wonderful fruity and vegetable notes, and a spicy, slightly bitter finish.

Unfortunately these olive oils are not availbale in the UK yet but we are trying to persuade them to bring us over a bottle to taste when they next come to the UK!
