Bancroft Wines at Australia Day Tasting

Yesterday Team Bancroft set up camp at Lindley Hall in London for the Annual Australia Day Tasting. In the company of over 1000 different wines we were accompanied by bottles of our own from Australia's family-run Schild Estate in the Barossa Valley and Martin Spedding presenting his wines as guest of honour from the Mornington Peninsula's iconic Ten Minutes by Tractor.

In a room that was buzzing from start until finish, the atmosphere amongst attendees and exhibitors was full of tangible excitement for potential new discoveries and re-acquaintances with old ones. Australia seems to be showing off its colours once again in a very classy way.

Schild Estate Wines

Multi-award winning Schild Estate caused a stir amongst visitors to our tables, not only due to their quality - the Morooroo of particular note, but they were also a cause of pleasant intrigue for their recent label re-design. Channelling a human element to the design, the labels show images that are unmistakably Australian. Feedback amongst clients on the day highlighted their on-trade friendliness Download a list of their accolades here.

schild Estates takes the cake. Layers of pepper, red fruit reigned w pleasant vanilla toast. Case2go pls!

New wines coming from the new reserve and a Harpers Design Award medal winner.

Ten Minutes by Tractor

Martin and Oz Clarke
We were delighted to be joined by Martin Spedding, brains behind the Mornington Peninsula's iconic Ten Minutes by Tractor. Martin's wines were so popular on the day, every last drop was gone by around 4:30pm. Press, media and  top class clients were all ears listening to Martin speaking about his wines including Oz Clarke - a recent visitor to the estate.

The 10x Pinot Noir Ten Minutes by Tractor was served at Dine Australia's Pop up Restaurant on the day - being matched to a menu of dishes provided by Michelin Starred chef Roger Jones of The Harrow at Little Bedwyn and wine specialist Luke Robertson. The 10x Pinot was matched to poached and roasted quail with an English truffle and mushroom salad.

Some stunning examples of the new on show in London today - Giaconda, Yabby Lake, 10 x Tractor and many more. Buzzing.

Wallis Chardonnay from my highlight today. Ridiculously good.

Martin Spedding and our own Rob Allen

10x Pinot a great way to start the day.

Thanks to all who came to see us, and to the Wine Australia team for hosting.
