Our wines were awarded 11 medals, including 4 Golds!
We are pleased to announce that 11 of our wines have won a medal at this year’s Sommelier Wine Awards, representing 40% of the wines that were entered into the competition.

In total, there were four gold medals, including David Nieuwoudt’s Ghost Corner Sauvignon Blanc 2011 (Elim, South Africa), Bodegas LAN’s Edición Limitada 2008 (Rioja, Spain), Marjan Simčič’s Leonardo 2005 (Goriška Brda, Slovenia), which also scooped the critic’s choice award, and Clos du Caillou’s Bouquet des Garrigues Côtes du Rhône 2009, which was also awarded the food match award.

Silver medals were awarded to Simčič’s Pinot Grigio 2010, Cederberg’s Sauvignon Blanc 2011, Domaine de la Mordorée’s Cuvée Reine des Bois Lirac Rouge 2009 and Luigi Tacchino’s Gavi di Gavi 2010.
Finally Bronze medals were awarded to Champagne René Geoffroy 1er Cru Expression Brut NV, Luigi Bosca’s Malbec 2009 and Château Haut-Grelot Blaye Blanc 2011.

Imbibe’s Sommelier Wine Awards is the UK's leading on-trade wine competition. The wines are judged by the top sommeliers and on-trade buyers in the UK.
The Sommelier Wine Awards was started by Imbibe Magazine in 2007 and has grown to become the key competition for wines with a presence across hotels, pubs, bars and restaurants in the UK.
Congratulations to all our producers who were awarded a medal.
